Eyles and Yoshiko Tsushima - Paintings and Pastels
Eyles' paintings indicate a sense of time lost and a layering of
history on the landscape. Imagery of atmospheric perspective is
often stained by impressions of burning forests set against the
energy of stormy skies which have become unattainable by the dark
and uninviting foreground.
Yoshiko Tsushima's pastel drawings combine a sure eye for
observational realism with an innate sense of design to create
highly poetic works that imbue even the simplest objects with a
mysterious beauty. |
