Puturru Palyalpayi - Stringmakers
In association with Warburton Arts Project
In 2009, the International Year of Natural Fibre and
the International Year of Reconciliation, an artists’ exchange
project was arranged, supported by the Department of Culture and the
Arts. This enabled a small group of women artists from the coastal
plains of Perth to visit the senior women artists from the remote
community of Warburton in the Gibson desert. This exhibition is the
result of that meeting.
Warburton Community women artists – Tjingapa Davies,
Elizabeth Holland, Nora Holland, Nola Hunt, Walya Mitchell and Lalla
West
Perth artists – Holly Story, Bronwyn Goss and Nalda Searles. |

Rosella Namok
In Association with Australian & Oceanic Art Gallery
In 2008 Rosella Namok was one of the artists featured in our
exhibition Cape to Cove. We talked then about her returning for a
solo show as the WA audience had responded so enthusiastically to
her work.
This exhibition will give some idea of the scope of Rosella’s
practice, presenting a variety of works – large paintings, panel
works and works on paper.
