Regeneration : New
Paintings by Galliano Fardin
There are believers, prophets and agnostics. Some know the truth,
some bring the truth and some doubt…
"Truth" cannot be owned or institutionalized; truth is the
mystery of life itself and life is the biological processes at work
in the cosmos. All living things are interconnected and undergo the
endless cycles of birth, growth and death. We all are but links of a
living chain that meanders through the liveable space and time and
we all are indigenous of this planet. The Earth is our home and our
survival depends on our housekeeping skills. In our times we have a
myopic obsession with economics, we believe that money is the
panacea to all our problems. But the power of money does not
necessarily represent the power of many…
We are now living in a time when the biggest extinction of
species since the end of the Cretaceous period is taking place.
There are many factors contributing to these mass extinctions, but
our “modern’ ways are certainly causing a massive destruction of
habitat as well as a huge array of other environmental problems.
The workings of nature through its endless mutations and
adaptations to changing circumstances are a creative endeavour which
has inspired humanity on our journey through history.
The realization that we humans can unleash so much destructive
power on a global scale, implies that we may also have the means to
make some necessary corrections. Through this we could reconnect our
creativity to the creative power of nature.
When we believe that we are holding the truth and have all the
answers, it does not mean that we finally have got it "right", it
only means that we have given up asking questions.
