First Page
First Page, an anthology of visual art and text composed by local
writer-artists, will be launched at an immersive exhibition of
original art and works inspired by the publication. Following the
exhibition a handful of the most innovative bands currently active
in Perth will perform at The Bakery. First Page is a comprehensive
compilation by over 20 Perth artists who have taken up both pen and
paintbrush to produce visual and written work for the book. The
result is a diverse feast of textual-images and imaginative texts
that will be sure to satisfy you from your head to your toes.
Also happening as part of the exhibition, Cottonmouth will host a
special First Page edition of its monthly narrative performance
night, with many writers from the book trying their hand at a
performative interpretation of their chapter. Sound acts and
Cottonmouth regulars will also perform, and the Cottonmouth zine
market will be in full swing.
